september 1

ok, so levi puts us on to a posting about strange sales on wall street (called PUTs) up in the billions of dollars, that will ostensibly pay off ONLY if we have a national disaster or crisis before september 21.

then a friend sends an article in which a head of israeli intelligence is interviewed and he is telling us to expect something in september. and tells us to be sure we have hand towels, water in a bottle and a flashlight with us so that if something happens, we're able to get out of the poisonous gases, the dust, the whatever.

makes it sound like we're going to have an exciting month!

but the question is: IS SOMETHING GOING TO HAPPEN? if this expectation is the result of sloppy work on the part of terrorists, that is one thing. after all, don't we have homeland security? seven years of stepped-up intelligence?

BUT

if this information is media-driven (that is, someone has a theory of what is up and the more it gets talked about in the media, the bigger it gets, the more solid it seems)...well, are we in for a "wag the dog" which would seem utterly plausible and completely expected?

AND

the ultimate question is: does it matter? Just as Orwell pointed out in 1984, (the book, not the year) ---the governments we live under are just as capable of creating havoc for the benefit of their own power and perpetuation as are the terrorists we are officially told to watch out for.

in the case of this current mortgage "crisis" the government is not being benevolent by proposing to bail out irresponsible borrowers...the government is the BIGGEST CORPORATION in Amreica, and probably in the world, requiring enormous cashflow to keep itself in operation. If the economy collapses, it quite possibly will hurt our dear Uncle Sam worse than it hurts any of us (and some of us have already gotten some significant hurt!).

SO

Buy extra batteries and put them into your flashlight on Labor Day. Whoever is behind whatever may happen, have water, a towel or big hankie at hand. The cool thing is to remember that whatever blows up, God's not missing a beat. He knows EXACTLY what is up and HE IS FULLY ABLE to do what is BEST for HIS KIDS!

Fear paralyzes. Faith prepares. Happy Labor Day weekend---for those of us who know Jesus, the WORK's already been DONE. we can REST in HIM!!! YAHOOO!!
